I spent the day sailing, had a nap, and am now tucked into a chair in my kitchen, with dogs at my feet.
A bottle of wine, only my iPod for company, a magazine (National Geographic, I'm such a dork), and a pot of chicken soup simmering on the stove...
Can't beat that for a Saturday night.
.............
Note to self: may want to buy a small fire extinguisher to keep in the kitchen.
Sounds like a perfect way to spend a Saturday. You sure it was parsley and not salvia?
ReplyDeleteMmm chicken soup sounds great!!
ReplyDeleteI've longed believed in the "healing" properties of chicken soup, on many levels, so I get ya girlie. And if all else fails smoking a little parsley can't hurt....
ReplyDeleteI have to say... The older I get, the more I really, thoroughly enjoy the quiet night in. Burned herbs and all.
ReplyDeleteOh, and MC, what happens when you "burn" salvia?
ReplyDeleteI have two fire extinguishers in the kitchen. One under the sink and one by the door. If you knew how I cooked, you'd understand why.
ReplyDeleteI had a very productive weekend, finished every project I have had hanging around since February. At one point I was finishing my niece's dress (post on Tuesday) and watching Oldest and Tony planting a tree outside, and thought...
...this is the life I always wanted.
Quiet days at home, finishing up projects, planting flowers, cleaning house. It was a great day indeed.
I hope your soup was fantastic. And that your dreams were not plagued with hallucination. :)
Juli- no hallucinations, but lots of police drama, courtesy of the ex-husband. Again.
ReplyDeleteI had to open my mouth. The universe heard I was content, and laughed at me... 'just wait til Sunday, ADoC, just wait...' it said.
Juli- on a non-bitter note, hooray for completing your projects! I got some done too, before the crazy took over. I'm tearing out doorways and master bath. So far so good on renovations. If only I could control the ex as well as a planer and router.
ReplyDeleteAhh, sounds completely satisfying and cozy.
